Pick your own
This morning was another beautiful morning, and with nothing much else to do I cycled down to the pick your own farm in Staunton St John, and picked three punnets full of gooseberries, strawberries, and raspberries. It was a perfect day for cycling, very sunny but not too warm, and the Oxfordshire countryside looked absolutely gorgeous in the sunshine. When I got home some of the fruits had got a bit squished in the bike basket, as I'd expected, so I made a raspberry and white chocolate ice cream and a gooseberry and elderflower ice cream with the squished fruits. There is still a punnet of strawberries left in the fridge, waiting for a strawberry tart, I think. This is summer!
